Product started growing in three days and the pictures are after one week. You will see a small patch where I used seed instead and barely anything has grown compared to the GroTrex which is why I am giving this 5 stars. I did make sure I prepped the area digging an inch down and putting good topsoil under the GroTrex before covering the GroTrex with EZStraw to help prevent some erosion. Overall I found this easier than repairing with sod at from the local store, but would like to get some more coverage for the money spent.
Very easy to put down. Grows relatively quick, i suggest following the instructions exactly to get best quality result. Clear area of all debri & old grass. Then make sure you wet ground well before laying out grass sheet. then soak again. Must be watered at least twice a day to ensure it’s sticking to ground. If you are in a windy area, i would suggest lawn stakes to hold fabric down a bit. I sprinkled a very light layer of top soil on top to keep it down better. Great for small spaces & the grass for shadey areas they sell grows in so soft & green.
Works great! After like a week already seeing little grass hairs. Stuff is amazing. I don’t really have much wind cause of the surrounding trees. So I didn’t need to steak it to the ground. With it being wet most of the time to grow at first it stayed on the ground. Def a good purchase. Soooo worth it! Al in one easy step! I just don’t see trying to grow grass any other way.
What can I say? This works! I bought this half-heartedly thinking, "well, if it doesn't work ,I'm only out 30 bucks." I prepped my bare spots well (tilled and weeded the soil and mixed in some bagged topsoil), cut the roll into the shapes and sizes I needed for each spot, and watered it religiously and according to directions. It worked. The green mat has completely broken down back into the soil, and I am left with nice grass. I am going to buy another roll to fill in the rest of the spots now that I know I can trust this to work!
(long story short: I'm a big skeptic, didn't think it would work that well, but it proved me wrong!)
